DiskBuddy is the closest thing to a direct counterpart, and we will say so plainly rather than pretend otherwise: it is a fast, well-made native Mac app, and its multi-view approach to a drive is the same basic idea as ours. On the core feature list — the views, duplicates, uninstall with leftovers, snapshots, the age map and big-and-untouched files — the two are at parity.
Where they differ is around the edges that decide whether you trust a tool with deletion. Our staging model attaches a safety tier and a written, plain-English reason to every item before it can be queued, refuses to stage protected paths at all, and re-checks each item against the device and inode recorded at staging time before it deletes anything. Dropit is also signed and notarized by Apple; DiskBuddy's own FAQ walks you through Gatekeeper's "Open Anyway" because it is not.

The last difference is platform. DiskBuddy is a pure native Swift app of about 6.2 MB; ours is an 11.3 MB universal binary with a Rust scan core and a web-technology interface. That interface is what lets every view run on this website before you download anything, and it is why Dropit ships in thirty languages and adds a live monitor that explains what is making your Mac hot.
Choose DiskBuddy if you want the proven option, prefer a small pure-native binary, or would rather paste a licence key than create an account — it is a good app and there is no reason to switch for the sake of it.
