Nothing hidden
You always know how long a link lives
Expiry is written on the share card, in the dashboard, and in the reminder email. There is no quiet deletion and no link that dies without warning.
Clear retention
Trial links run one hour. Free links run seven days, then sit restorable in the archive until day thirty before they are purged for good. A Link Pass runs ninety days. Paid links stay while you are subscribed.

Password when you want it
Put a password on any paid link. It is checked at the edge, hashed with Argon2id, and never cached. You can reset or remove it from the dashboard, and old sessions die the moment you do.

Every upload is scanned
We check the real bytes, not the file extension. ZIPs get decompression limits, path-traversal and symlink rejection, and an entry cap. SVGs are sanitised. Your content is served from a separate domain that can never see an account cookie.

Questions
Before you upload
Do I need an account to try it?
No. Drop a file and you get a working link for one hour. If you want to keep it, sign up free for seven days, buy a Link Pass for ninety days, or subscribe.
What does the link actually look like?
Your words come first: proposal.dropit.host, spring-menu.dropit.host. If a name is taken we suggest close alternatives instead of appending numbers.
Can I update the file without resending the link?
Yes. Upload a new version and the same address serves it immediately. Paid plans keep the version history so you can look back at what you sent.
What happens when a free link expires?
It stops serving on day seven and moves to the archive, where it is restorable until day thirty. After that it is purged. You get email reminders at 48 and 24 hours before it goes.
Why does the free plan show a badge?
It is how a free link pays for itself. A small corner mark on free pages is the trade for seven days of hosting. A Link Pass or any subscription removes it.
Can I host a whole site, not just one file?
Yes. Zip a static site and drop it in. We find index.html at any depth, keep your relative paths, and serve it as a real site with proper security headers. No Git, no build step, no deploy config.
Are my links private?
Links are unlisted and marked noindex, so they do not turn up in search. Anyone with the address can open them unless you add a password, which is available on Link Pass and above.
Can I delete something for good?
Yes. Delete from the dashboard and the link stops working immediately; the stored objects are purged within 24 hours. Slugs are held for 90 days afterwards so nobody can pick up an address you retired.
